That right we did, we met Tim Ream on the PATH train on the way home from the Red Bulls game after they won 1-0 against Toranto FC. It was awesome cause he's going to be the future. By the next world cup he's going to be that monster!!! Me and Jimmy didn't want to cock block him from talking to 2 women on his way home but then he put his arm around her and then I noticed the big ROCK on her hand and I was like WHAT!!!!! I was like damn son getting it in young. Me and Jimmy were wondering what to say when he got off (yes we were like little school girls now shut up you Twilight people), we thought we would get off first and have time to think of something. But no he got off first, so Jimmy said "GOOD GAME REAM!" as I give him the Irish Potato lol. He said "Thanks"
So as me and Jimmy though it must be soo cool to be a player (not well known either) and see people/fans with your jersey on. I like to think we made him feel special.
Now heres a picture to prove Tim Ream and Team Ream roll deep:
Tim Ream and his lady friend.
P.S. He's better then Vampires & Werewolves... CAUSES HE'S REAL!!!!
The curse of '09 is still in these jersey. New York Red Bulls need to just throw these away!!! I mean this season we had 2 loses and a tie that felt like a loss. So please Red Bull STOP WEARING THEM!!! I know you need to sell them but come on just have a far well event and BURN these jersey leave '09 in the past. Everytime I see these blue jerseys I get sick to my stomach.
With Thierry Henry coming to the Red Bulls they had to let someone go, that man is John Wolyniec. Who in my eye (and probably many others) a Metro legend. So many fantastic goals in much dyer need, to the first and only MLS Cup goal. The leader of the team in the amazing U.S. Open Cup run with 4 goes in I think about 6 games. The man that made us proud to be Metro/Red Bull fans last season (2009) even though we were last place of the league and still fought hard John Wolyniec. The team has let you go soooo many times I think 3 to be exact, and now its your 4th. At least this time the team did a very classy thing offer you a coaching job that I'm sure you liked but you were done with soccer yet. So I'm sure all the true Metro/Red Bull fans have a tear in their eye to see you leave.
On that note :insert loud chanting voice:
"WE LOVE JOHN WOLYNIEC, WE LOVE JOHN WOLYNIEC, WE LOVE JOHN WOLYNIEC,WE LOVE JOHN WOLYNIEC."
The worlds worst kept secret is finally out, Thierry Henry is a NYRB. What am I to do being a Irish-American. Do I hate the guy and be a bad fan of the team or do I just suck it up and cheer him on anyway.
Here are some of MY pros and cons not YOUR pros and cons about him coming.
Lets start with the good (Pros):
He's on our team, he can handle the ball in our favor.
He can provide a lot of support to Angel (Which he was been looking for).
The fan base may grow.
We have a greater shot at the MLS Cup and the League.
Now the BAAAD things(Cons):
We will get A LOT of haters.
He might not play that well.
We may lose Angle.
He complains a lot (back in the Arsenal day idk about recent).
So I don't know what to do, do I forgive and forget? or do I just hate on him like some fans will......
I'll have to give this some thought and get back to you... BEFORE July 22nd.
So people have been wondering, "why is there a random red seat in sec 101 at RBA." So I went to go find out why theres a random red seat in sec 101 row 11 seat 20. Could you figure out why?!?! Well its in sec 101 cause of the supporters club, row 11 cause the first goal was scored in the 11th min, and seat 20 because Joel Lindpere was the goal scorer and his number is 20. So the mystery behind the red seat at Red Bull Arena has been solved.
Now doesn't this look very similar... Well if your German, a Nazi historian or a Nazi. The league made D.C. change there logo cause it looks alot like this guy:
Now see this is why New York is the D.C. haters. Cause there secretly a Nazi group.
Was the long 14 year wait worth it... YES IT WAS. After all the delays we fast over the years the promises and what not, New York soccer fans finally got want we always wanted. A home away from Giants rat hole Stadium. The game was great the attends made it even better with Temple's first sold out crowd of 25,000. Most of all we won which was soo good. The team did not look like the 2009 team at all. Passing was great and the defence oh my god the supporters section couldn't get over how good we were on D-fence. All I gotta say is thank you Red Bull for giving us what we deserved. Lets blow the roof off this place again next week and send the Chicago Fire home. OUR HOUSE, YOUR HELL!!!
Red Bull Arena Opens in just 10 more days. I am one excited mofo, I and many another soccer/football fan in the NYC area have been waiting for this day to finally come. It will be the temple of soccer in NYC. This place will become my church I will make it my Mecca. When the sun is highest in the sky all Red Bull fan should take ten min to just bow to the direction of the arena.
As much as it will sound bad coming out of my mouth thank you Red Bull organaztion for this great arena that NYC will call home for some many years. I don't think we could see this day as the Metrostars, even if we did it would not be on such great scale. Just look at New England they have yet to build a Stadium of there own because its too hard. But we did FUCK YOU (same go to DC United).
Can't want to see the place for the soft opening on March 13th 2010 then the Grand Opening of the Temple of Soccer on March 20th 2010 it should be great.
Some people have ask "Why did you go Red Bull after the whole Metrostars and Red Bull problem". Heres some history behind the whole thing.
The Metros founded in 1996, the only team to use New Jersey in its name NY/NJ Metrostars (probly the main reason we sucked). We had never made it past the first leg of the playoffs. Could never keep a steady coach or ever get that Stadium built. Yes we had the plans and owned the land to build the damn stadium since like '98. But we did have some very well know players come from the Metros, such as:
Tim Howard a goalie we lost to Manchester United in a transfer
Eddie Pope and great defender for the US national team
Clint Mathis now a MLS Cup Champion and a former US national team player
Jozy Altidore granted he only played in a Metro jersey once before Red Bull came Metro get the credit cause they drafted him.
Michael Bradley which is on one of the best notable US national teams in year.
Also Bob Bradley the father of Michael Bradley who was one of the best coaches Metro ever had, is now coach the present US national team.
So that is just some of the many of the Metros notable players. But then again we sold them off instead of keeping them on the team to improve are club and the popularity of the club in NYC. Yes maybe the players might not of reached there full greatness as they are now, but Landon Donovan has done it why couldn't they.
Then came the buying of Metro by Red Bull which sent shock waves thought the MetroFanatic's hearts and we couldn't believe it we started the season as Metro but to be bought by a energy drink company. I remember going to see the "New face of soccer in NY" when I had my Metrostars ticket in hand while watch the team come out in nothing more then a red t shirt with a giant red bull logo on the front everyone around looked in awww as "where are the Red and Black stripes" then this video came on the big screen on Giants Stadium....
Shortly after that this came on....
So could you blame some of us for hating Red Bull many have boycotted the games. Even most players did the management of the team after firing all the staff that Red Bull did the players started to walk off the field and join the Fans in bowing not the players the Suits that let the team be bought and used to sell an energy drink. We went though 3 couches that season most ever in MLS history also an all-time low of a fan base (Metro fans were alowed to get a refund on tickets) MLS thought they made a big boo boo by selling the team. But then surely the Red Bulls found a way to plant ass in those seats again have a fan day were tickets were have off and have a pre game show which involed sky divers and motocross tricks and best yet Pele came to sign the kick off ball. Then they had a half time show with hit artist at the time Shakira. The season went on then all the Metrostar fans came back for only 2 games the New England game which was tied 0-0 and then the DC United game (only because we hate them to clubs), the DC United game was bad the first goal they scored on use Mr. Jaime Moreno had a can of Red Bull on the sidelines and Drank it and spit it back out with a smerk on his face. At that point we had couldn't just sit back and take this. Everyone seemed to get loud, I personally think that was the loudest the crowd got all season back in 2006. But wait at the end of the Season Red Bull released the plays to Red Bull Park which was due to open in 2008. Then we all started coming back slowly cause it was to hard to not support the team. It was what we always wanted a place to call home. For 3 Years the supporters would never say the word Red Bull it would be Metrostars or New York. So we basically supported the team not the name. The club went though promises of a DP (Designated Player) which we finally got and his name was JUAN PABLO ANGLE!!!! Some people say we only bought him due to the high amount of Latino's in the crowd. But even if they did man oh man what a player. He was only there for half a season maybe not even but he won over the crowd. He alone I think bought back many old Metro fans. That player did cost us something though.... are stadium which was now delayed til 2009. So yet again let down by Red Bull. But then again we did get to the MLS finals which was lost in but it got us all ready for Red Bull Arena which was opening mid 2009 season. Which then came another message telling us.... 2010.... now were not happy the 2009 season was not good the stadium isn't here and Red Bull doesn't seem to care for us at all. The rumor went around saying Red Bull is selling the team MlS stated no there not no one believe them at all. Finished the MLS season with the worse recored ever in MLS history. But that ok will have are Stadium next year right. Yes they maybe turn but we need Red Bull to help the Club not just make logos and plaster them everywhere so they can sell there product.
Thats some very long history for you about the team(s) my thing was I hated supporting other teams cause all the players for Red Bull were Metrostars and what was I gunna do support another MLS team go to one game a year in person and boooo my old team. No so I started to support the Red Bulls even though sometimes the big voice in the stadiums messes up the name and calls us Metrostars from time to time lol. But we will always remember the boy in Red in Black.
Heres something that will never die even at Red Bull Arena....
I have bought my Red Bull Season tickets and I can't wait for the new stadium to open. I got great seats too. Section 101 row 4 right behind the goal lets gooooo.
Yeah its Xmas time and I've finished all my Xmas shopping. It was hard this year for gifts but I got the deed done. Now all I have to do is wait for my gift to come in which I hope is money which I can put towards the lovely game of Football aka Soccer. One being Chelsea Piers to have the rebirth of Pier Pressure. The second being Red Bull New York season tickets. At this point it's mostly going to Chelsea cause its sooner. Which is 01.09.2010 (I think...). So hope everyone else is getting their shopping done too.
